OK, I love these! They are creepy, absolutely adorable sock creatures called Doldrums, created by Sock Horror. I found Tiufo, the star Doldrum, for $36 and Dilly, the pink and black Doldrum, for $40 USD at their Etsy Shop. Each creature is sent with its own body bag and toe tag; very creative.

Vintage Poppy Creations

Vintage Poppy Creations brought back a lot of memories for me: making little things out of felt. Except VPC has a lot more skill than I do at sewing. Everything she makes is made out of felt and absolutely adorable! There are really clever Ipod socks at her Etsy Shop for around $6 USD. I also found this elegant felt, lace, and buttons bracelet for $15. Vintage Poppy Creations is definitely going to be on my Christmas list this year; she does custom orders!

S.A.M's Creations: a mother, daughter (and sometimes husband) team that sew up some beautiful items for your home! I know that my own mother has a unique love of tissue box holders and I found a truely wonderful one, for $10 USD at the S.A.M. Etsy shop! There are also great pillows, shawls, table runners, and dog clothes to be found. The wide range of fabrics and colors is awesome; there is something for everyone!

Now how about this: vintage typewriter key jewelry from Keys and Memories! This is certainly something new to me! I love the beautiful Alice in Wonderland images put into the typewriter keys to make a bracelet, which can be found at the K&M Etsy shop for $39.99. The Japanese Geisha's are also a unique find; $41.99 USD. Not only does Keys and Memories make bracelets, but also watches, earrings, and necklaces. Definitely something to check out.

Don't let the name scare you away, Ugly Baby is a treat! They created these cool Shower Art peices that can be suction cupped to your shower, or any other location that will allow it. I really like the "Floss Bitch" shown above, $40 USD at their Etsy shop. Not only did I find shower art, but also these adorable brooches, for around $8! I'm thinking Christmas presents...Hmmm...

If you like beaded jewelry, you're going to go crazy for Bernie Beads! Bracelets, earrings, necklaces; all made with beautiful beads in a wide range of colors. Bernie Beads is a one woman team, and you can see she works hard! I am in love with the blue choker featured above; $38 USD at her Etsy shop. The time it must take to create things with such small beads is astounding. A big thumbs up to Bernie Beads.

Time for another DIYer: Little Grey Cat Designs! First of all, their name is just so cute!

LGCD creates knitted items, such as scarves and jackets, in beautiful colors. Everything is created in a smoke-free environment, which is great. I also found some very unique things in their Etsy Shop, such as the Framed Yarn Art pictured above, for $28 USD. I never would have thought that yarn could be a nice peice of art to hang on the wall!

All I can say is-- Auryn Designs: Absolutely Delightful! Every item in her Etsy shop is gorgeous! She creates earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and pendants that are Japanese chiyogami paper decoupaged onto ceramic or wood tile. For those of you not quite familiar, decoupage is defined as: "the art of decorating surfaces by applying cutouts of paper and coating with several layers of a clear finish such as varnish or lacquer." These are a great gift idea for the wonderful mother, sister, or grandmother in your life!

Faster Than You! My First!

I would like to introduce my first DIYer: Faster Than You! Their logo is "Because life is too short to wear something boring," and I certainly agree. They make such beautiful hand-drawn jewelry on hard cut plastic that is thoughtfully sealed in varnish to protect the paint. The color and composition of every peice is great and the detail is wonderful. These one-of-a-kind peices are at a great price, too: $20-$30 USD!

Welcome! Welcome! This is the grand opening of Treasure Trove. My name is Kristen and I love DIY arts and crafts. I started this blog to feature new artists/crafters and their creations. I can not wait to get started! I am hoping to update six days a week, if not every day, with new treasures, so make sure you check back often! Not only am I going to be blogging, I am going to have Artist of the Month, Product of the Month, etc.

If you're wondering a bit more about me.... Like I said, my name is Kristen. I grew up doing arts and crafts with my mother and sisters (I have two younger ones). We did everything: popcicle stick houses, paper dolls, sewing, jewelry. Now I am in my college years and I still love making my own purses, jewelry, hair accessories. I grew up appreciating people's talents and individuality.
